Sports fans now have a new way to keep up to date with everything that’s happening with their favourite sports, teams and athletes using a new free web application called Starspoon, which launched today with the help of ambassador and former Australian cricketer Nathan Bracken.

Starspoon aggregates social media updates from teams and athletes and searches hundreds of websites across the globe for the latest news articles relating to them, then combines it all into one easy to read feed.

Before Starspoon, fans had to search through multiple news websites to get all the latest on field news, then search through multiple social media networks to get all the latest on what their favourite teams and players are up to off the field.

Kim Little, CEO of Kudos Knowledge who co-created Starspoon says, “The world is more connected than ever with so many social media networks, blogs and news websites at our fingertips, the problem is that with so many options overloading us with information it takes so long for us to find what we’re really interested in.”

“When it comes to sport, fans want to know everything that’s happening with their favourite teams and players as soon as it happens, both on and off the field and until now this has been a time consuming exercise because of the missing link between sports news and social media. With Starspoon we aim to fill this missing link.”

Starspoon is free to view and is easily accessible to everyone, however signing in using a Twitter or Facebook account enhances the experience.

When signed in, fans can build their own personalised feed by choosing to follow individual teams and athletes to keep the content in their feed most relevant to what they want to see. Fans can also interact with their favourite teams and athletes through their social media accounts directly through Starspoon.

Former Australian cricketer Nathan Bracken is a co-creator and ambassador of Starspoon and thinks not only the fans but also the clubs and athletes will benefit from the launch of the new web app.

“With so much sport being played in Australia and around the world and so many websites and social media networks trying to capture it all, sports fans have been in need of a streamlined one stop shop where they can quickly and easily get all the latest info on their favourite teams and players in one place.”

“At the same time, teams and athletes are using social media to give their fans more and more to keep them engaged all year round and build their own brand as well as their sponsors. Starspoon solves both issues.”

Developed in Australia, Starspoon will initially focus on Australian sports with every professional team and player in the AFL, NRL and cricket the first to feature on the site.

In the next few months teams and players from Australian and global rugby union competitions, A-League, English Premier League, NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, world golf and tennis, Formula One and V8 Supercars will be added.

With the 2013 AFL and NRL seasons upon us, now’s the perfect time to discover just how good and easy to use Starspoon is. Go to www.starspoon.com today.
